I had never heard of Cheeseburger Bobby's since we're from a neighboring state and this chain only exists in GA. But while driving around on a Sunday evening, we decided to give it a try. I really like the concept of being served one of their menu item hamburgers and then being able to add fresh toppings and condiments from the serving bar. My wife and I both ordered the bacon cheeseburger - her's with onion rings and mine with fries. She only added onions from the topping bar but I loaded mine up with onions, lettuce, pickles and tomato. Since we ordered "to go", I grabbed ketchup, ranch and Bobby's sauce from the condiment station. We were staying about five minutes away so the burgers were still hot and fresh. She was pleased with her onion rings but I was less impressed with the fries. The taste was OK but they were a bit soggy and I don't think that was due to our order being takeout. Service was very friendly and helpful. Both of us would definitely order from Cheeseburger Bobby's again.
Overview
Walking into Cheeseburger Bobby's at 459 E Main St, Cartersville, GA 30121, United States feels like stepping into one of those places locals quietly brag about. I stopped by on a busy Friday afternoon after a long drive, and the parking lot alone told me this spot wasn’t just surviving-it was thriving. Families, construction crews, and office workers all funneled through the door with the same goal in mind: a solid burger that actually tastes like one.
The menu keeps things refreshingly straightforward. Instead of overwhelming you with gimmicks, it focuses on made-to-order burgers, hand-cut fries, crispy chicken sandwiches, and classic milkshakes. I ordered a classic cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, and their house sauce. Watching the process from the counter was half the fun. Fresh beef hit the flat-top grill, sizzling immediately, while buns toasted just enough to hold everything together without stealing the spotlight. According to the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, fresh ground beef cooked on a flat-top retains more moisture and flavor than pre-formed patties, and you can taste that difference here.
What stood out to me was consistency. I’ve eaten at burger diners across Georgia, and inconsistency is usually where places slip. At this location, the burger came out exactly as ordered, hot and balanced. The fries were crisp on the outside and fluffy inside, which aligns with what food scientists from the Institute of Food Technologists describe as the ideal fry texture achieved through proper oil temperature and double-cooking methods. Even during peak hours, the staff moved efficiently without rushing customers, something many reviews mention when talking about this Cartersville location.
Cheeseburger Bobby's isn’t just about beef either. A friend of mine who avoids red meat swears by their grilled chicken sandwich, noting that it’s juicy without being greasy. Another regular I chatted with mentioned bringing his kids weekly because the kids’ meals are reliable and don’t feel like an afterthought. That kind of word-of-mouth matters. According to BrightLocal’s Local Consumer Review Survey, over 85% of diners trust online reviews as much as personal recommendations, and this spot consistently earns positive feedback for food quality and service.
One thing worth mentioning is the atmosphere. It’s casual, clean, and unpretentious. No forced nostalgia, no trendy décor trying too hard. You sit down, eat well, and leave satisfied. That simplicity feels intentional. Restaurant consultant Aaron Allen often emphasizes that diners return to places where expectations are clear and consistently met, and that philosophy shows up here in every detail, from the layout to the way orders are called.
There are multiple Cheeseburger Bobby's locations across Georgia, but this Cartersville diner has built its own loyal following. Locals treat it as a dependable lunch stop, while travelers stumble upon it and remember it later. I’ve personally gone back twice since my first visit, once just for a quick order of fries and a shake, and the experience held up both times. The chocolate shake, by the way, was thick without being heavy, a balance dairy experts say comes from proper milk-to-ice-cream ratios rather than shortcuts.
If there’s a limitation, it’s that the menu doesn’t change often. Some people crave seasonal specials or rotating items, and you won’t find much of that here. Still, what they do offer is done with care and attention, which is arguably more important. In a dining scene crowded with overcomplicated concepts, this place proves that a well-executed burger, friendly service, and a comfortable setting can still win people over, one tray at a time.

I stopped here with my girlfriend because she’s obsessed with some app called upside because it gives discounts to gas and restaurants. I wasn’t in the biggest mood for a burger especially from a new restaurant that online looked like a fast food place. I’m very glad we went and I was wrong, walking in it’s like a 5 guys sort of restaurant, Jackson was our cashier and he was super friendly and helped me choose what to order since I’ve never been here before. I loved the fact that I got to add all the toppings as much or little as I wanted. It brought back many great memories of Fuddruckers. The burger was absolutely delicious, I do wish I would have ordered the double patty because of the amount of toppings I put on the burger. Great taste, very reasonably priced. I also loved the fact that I could order half fries and half onion rings. Very cool touch. All the employees were super nice and friendly and kept the place running super well and clean. Thank you Jackson, James, Miles and I’m apologizing in advance for destroying his name, Matool!
Love how they make you feel welcomed & at home. They use angus beef, cut the fries fresh & all the veggies you can think of, on the veggie bar, to make your burger your way. Do you see how pretty & green that lettuce is. Perfection. It was so fresh it looked like they just picked it from the garden. The bun was soft. They offer a variety of fry seasoning. The condiments are dispensed from a pump & you can put it right on your food, onto the paper on your metal tray or into a cup. The drink area was clean & tidy. Very clean establishment & nice staff. Plus they have an app to earn rewards.
My food is always good! Fresh, hot and cooked to order. Sweet tea is good too! My favorite burger place!!
